COME LORD JESUS COME
COME LORD JESUS COME
I came the first time to stay
And was born in a manger lay
I lived but a very few years
Broken, beaten and filled with tears
I was God’s love to you wonderfully shown
That He might be placed on your heart’s throne
I spoke of love and forgiveness and peace
I died that sin and hatred might cease
I come each day anew in special places
And in the people of many races
I come to you in the weak and old
I come to you in the unloving and cold
I come to you in people with bitter hearts
I come to you in those with evil parts
I come to you in those loving and fair
I come to you in those who truly care
I come to you in ones called by me
I come to you in ones that help you see
I come to you but you cannot see
That in each of you dwells a part of me
I weep before My Father tears of pain
Because I’m hidden from the world
By each act that dims My light
And keeps others from seeing My love
Unless others can find Me in you
They will never have truly found Me
For I am in the least of these
As well as in all of the rest
But to love only those that reflect yourself
Is to not really to have known Me
You tell me to come each Christmas
But only in the form you wish Me to take
So out of Me I can be what you’ll make
I came as a babe tis true
But I am also Lord over you
I ask you to truly let Me come
In any form and experience love
For then will the kingdom of heaven
Have reached down and touched earth
